Our editorial standards
Most of what is written about moringa online is written to sell something. We are connected to a product too — and the honest response to that is to be unusually clear about how our content is made, where our claims come from, and what we will not say. This page explains exactly that.
Who writes this site
Articles published under the byline Powered By Moringa Editorial Team are researched and written in-house. Our job is to read the primary literature on Moringa oleifera, summarise it in plain language, and represent it accurately — including when the research is thin, mixed or unfavourable.
Where an article draws directly on formulation expertise, it carries the name of Joshua Plant, PhD, formulator of Vital 1 by CoLab, rather than the editorial team's. We do not attach his name to content he did not contribute to, and we do not invent quotes or attribute opinions to him.
We are an educational publisher, not a medical practice. Nothing on this site is medical advice, and no article is written or reviewed by a licensed clinician. How a scientific claim gets reviewed
Before a specific, factual claim about moringa appears in an article, it goes through the same four checks every time.

Find the primary source, not the summary
We trace the claim back to the study itself — normally on PubMed, PubMed Central or the journal — rather than repeating another blog, a press release or a supplement retailer.

Read what the study actually measured
We check the population, the dose, the duration and the outcome measured. A finding in 30 people over 12 weeks is written up as a finding in 30 people over 12 weeks, not as a general truth about moringa.

Match the language to the strength of the evidence
Cell studies get cautious, mechanistic language. Human trials get more confident language. Where results across studies disagree, the article says they disagree instead of quietly citing only the favourable one.

Verify the citation resolves
Every outbound citation is checked to confirm it loads and points at the study we described. Dead or unstable links are replaced, or the citation is written out in plain text so a reader can still find it.
How references are selected
We prefer peer-reviewed research indexed on PubMed or PubMed Central, systematic reviews and meta-analyses over single studies, and recent work over older work where the field has moved on. For botanical and agronomic facts we also use established institutional sources such as the World Agroforestry Centre and national food-composition databases.
We do not cite supplement retailers, affiliate roundups, AI-generated content farms or other wellness blogs as evidence for a health claim. If the only thing standing behind a claim is another blog repeating it, the claim does not go in.
Where a reputable source exists but has no stable public URL — some regulatory monographs, for example — we cite it in plain text with enough detail to find it, rather than linking to a page that is likely to break.

How we describe the strength of evidence
Not all research carries the same weight, and collapsing that distinction is the single most common way supplement content misleads people. This is the hierarchy we work to, and we name the tier in the article itself wherever a claim depends on it.
Human clinical trials
StrongestRandomised, controlled or placebo-controlled studies in people. Where a finding rests on human trial data, we say so and note the size and length of the trial when it matters.
Human observational studies
ModerateStudies that observe people without assigning treatment. Useful for spotting patterns, but they cannot establish cause and effect, and we describe them that way.
Animal studies
PreliminaryRodent and other animal research. Frequently promising, frequently not replicated in humans. We label these explicitly and never present them as if they applied directly to people.
Laboratory and in-vitro studies
PreliminaryCell and test-tube work. This tells us about mechanism, not about outcomes in a human body. Labelled as such every time.
Traditional and historical use
Context, not evidenceMoringa has thousands of years of documented use. That history is genuinely interesting and we write about it, but we do not present it as scientific proof of a health effect.
How we separate education from product
Powered By Moringa is an education site, and it is also connected to a specific product: Vital 1 by CoLab. Pretending otherwise would be dishonest, so we handle it structurally instead.
- Research content is about the plant. Articles about what the science says are written about Moringa oleifera generally. Study findings are never described as if they were findings about Vital 1.
- Product content is clearly marked as product content. Where we describe Vital 1, it appears in a distinct call-to-action or on a page whose purpose is obviously the product — not woven into a paragraph about a clinical trial.
- No study is used to support a product claim. No trial published on moringa was conducted on Vital 1, and we do not borrow the credibility of one for the other.
- Unfavourable findings stay in. Where the evidence is weak, mixed, or points to a caution — interactions, dosage limits, populations who should avoid it — that information is published with the same prominence as the positive findings.
We may earn income when a reader chooses to purchase through us. That is precisely why the rules above exist in writing rather than as a good intention.
Updates and corrections
Every article carries a visible publication date. When we revise an article substantively — new research, a corrected claim, a replaced source — we update it and the change is reflected in the page metadata. We do not refresh dates cosmetically to make old content look new.
